Technically this isn't the correct place to post this, since it's more of a rifle (carbine to be exact), but it IS a semiauto, and it's more in line with Rugers semiauto pistols than any of Ruger's rifles, except the new AR thing ... I forget the name.
Some of you guys and gals may want to check it out.

I actually shot one over the weekend, having ZERO idea it even existed. I'll tell you ... this was one of the neatest and most fun rifles I have ever had the pleasure of shooting. It was deadly accurate at 50 yards with open sights (about a 2 inch 10 round group), worked absolutely flawlessly, and brought a hell of a smile to my face.
Normally I'd hear the word Hi-Point, and laugh and scoff it off as a total piece of junk. I started doing a little research on it and it seems that it has a fairly big following, ESPECIALLY with the new 'tactical stock', which has 3 picatinny rails for optics, a front handle that's vertical underneath the handguard, and the right side for a light or bayonet or whatever. The tactical stock has 3 springs in the rear for recoil reduction, although 9mm recoil is pretty much nonexistent anyway. The old model's stock is hideous ... looks like it was made from a bunch of melted down tires, but the mechanicals are the same between the two.
It's a 9MM, and supposedly a 45 is in the works. Any of you guys that like this type of rifle should check it out. Do some research if you like. I have one on hold for me at Cabelas. How much is this little gem ???
$250, and Cabelas has a $70 off $300 coupon that will make the gun $180 if you buy another $50 to get to the $300 threshhold.
Check it out. When I get mine I'll post better pics.
This little thing is awesome. If you shoot one, I can practically guarantee that you'll buy one. These things have been out about a week, and from what I've heard, no one can keep them in stock they're so popular.
Anybody else know about this thing ???? I'm picking mine up tommorrow.
