Help me understand the Bearcat

Help Support Ruger Forum:

I briefly owned a Bearcat back in the early 1970's, it was after they had gone to a steel frame rather than aluminum. It was a nice little revolver but was just too small for my hands. I will say though that the ones posted here that have a Tyler T grip added look very interesting.

I went back through my photos and here's a couple other pictures I found, I don't remember where I got the first pic but it's not my gun.

I bought a bearcat for my oldest boy when he was hunting with me in NM for snakes. He packed it and so did my youngest when he got older. Now they carry 10mm's and the bearcat is retired to the back of one'd of the safes until a grandkid needs it.

I have one at reeders shop getting converted to a 32 bag with octagon barrel. Can't wait to get that one in my hands. Really like that bearcat frame.

Blackhawk, Single Six, Flattop, Security Six, Redhawk, Mk1,2,3,4, Wrangler. (sorry I probably missed a few)

If your collection does not have a Bearcat, then something must be wrong.

They shoot awesomely well.

Okay, I can see they are cute as a beagle pup. Probably worth having one for no better reason than that. I've got the cat head biscuit of hands, it looks like a toy.

But, for those of you using one, What purpose is it serving?
I gave mine to the wife. I have plenty of nice Rugers that are bigger and more powerful.

Here are some pics for the Bearcat grips that RAMMERJAMMER asked me about. The grip maker is Arizona Custom Grips and the material is Magna-Tusk. About $115.00.
