Through a trade today, I acquired a Stainless 77 MK II with a laminate stock. It is chambered in 30-06, no sights, with a grey/brown laminate stock that I haven't seen around my neck of the woods. At least if I did see one, it doesn't come to mind. SN is 789-35990. Is it perhaps a dealer special? KM77RJZ MKII? Thanks in advance for the assistance. :)

Cannot offer much help. But I think your on the right track with the model number. The stock is referred to as ROYAL JACARANDA. I have the same laminate on a savage 93 17 hmr. So the RJ is right in the model number. My assumption would be this was a distributor special. Possible a cleanup run to get rid of of the high polish stainless actions. The serial number puts it late 2003. That does not mean much could of shipped more recently. I did not see this pattern laminate on anything until about three years or so ago.

Well, I'm not sure of the value. My guest would be in the $500- $600 range. The RENE Ruger Firearms Reference refers to this rifle as a special distributor model for CSI. Reportedly made in LA calibers .25-06, .270, 7mm, .30-06 & .300, the quantities and serial number range are unknown. By the way, nice looking rifle you have there!
