it LOOKS like a M77 Hawkeye Ultralight, but i've been told that it's actually a MK1 rifle, and i can't find any info on it online....

can you give me an idea what it is, and what it's worth?

Your second picture shows the safety on the tang, which would make it an original M77. Note there never was a Mk1. The black forend tip in the first pic indicates it is an Ultralight or a Handi-rifle (as some of the early variants were called).

The only question is condition of your rifle. Shooter grade around here is about $450. Pristine rifles go up from there.

While there's sometime a butt for every chair, I'd never go that much dinero for a M77RL in that condition (although the pics could be deceiving regarding condition) - since IMHO that particular scope is a giveaway/discount.

bottom line: You won't know, until you try.

Put in the Classifieds, here - you can always reduce your price if it draws little interest at that price level.
