Contemplating a Stainless gun in .308.
Can any of you who have a stainless hawkey comment on how the finish has held up after some hunting experience. Pics always appreciated if you it helps.

My other options I am contemplating are Tikka and the new Win model 70.

thanks

I have a couple and hunted hard with them this year and they held up well.

I like the new trigger on the Hawkeye.

I have no pics of my rifles but I would say the finish has held up nicely. My rifle spent plently of time strapped to my pack as I hauled meat for hours. I was taking my pack off occasionally to rest and just dropped it in the dirt with rifle attached/not to mention the awful thick oak and sage I punched through to get my meat out all the while the rifle took a beating. Not my usual field care for my rifle but I just had to concentrate on getting that meat out this year(we were in some nasty stuff). Anyways, after it was all done the rifle cleaned right up -no worse for wear.

I would buy another-oh thats right I already have.

.308 Hawkeye would be a great all around rifle choice.

Good shooting -Steve

Not hunted/used as hard as Steve's, but have no complaints about the finish after one season.

Although the barrel and bolt are factory, they do not come fluted and skeletonized, it is custom work. The trigger was also worked to 2.5lbs.

Good eye guy's.
