I guess I am going to have to defend Buckaroo a bit. We all have things we believe and don't believe. He may be more pessimistic than most, but I don't think he is completely wrong. He just presents the dark side that we mostly try to push away. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I read his and think, well, I'm glad my life experience doesn't lead me to think that way. I'll not put him on ignore. It takes all kinds........

Ohio! Way too freakin' close to the city!
Don't laugh, you might be surprised by what you discover, tragedy and hardship can bring things out in people you never knew existed and you'd be surprise what some will do when they are hungry. Your neighbors will be key, some good some bad, optimal is in a tight nit community with plans in place. And don't bug out unless it's absolutely necessary, pool the resources and secure the perimeters. Everyone has a job to do.

And don't hesitate, if you have a neighbor who laugh at you for years at your prep and now try's to steal the food shoot that mofo on the spot and dump his body beyond the perimeters for the hordes of scavengers to find.
The strength will be in numbers.

As a lone wolf and crippled up I won't last a month. I'll have to shoot my way out of the building just to get to my vehicle.
We got low-lives in here who will cut your throat for just about anything.
I'm getting my rig set-up now and may take to the road permanently until I die. I don't want to end up in the home.
I'm in the same situation buckaroo. I like most of my neighbors but most just flit around in life like everything is the same as it has been for years. Well, it isn't the same as I see it! We had a "leader" a while back who told us he was going to "fundamentally CHANGE America" and we were going to move "FORWARD"! Well, he did and we have but not for the better. Don't get me wrong, it didn't start with BO, but it has been sped up.
Like I said, I like most of the neighbors, but I can only think of one couple who look at things the way I do. When push comes to shove, how much do I screw over my family by giving neighbors food and supplies I've slowly backed up over the years? I'm thinking not much! The sad thing is, I live in the suburbs so my life expectancy will probably be short but you never know! I'd rather be out in the hills in the lightly populated areas but it didn't work out that way!

We were in Bentonville, AR at our daughters and this is the first "black Friday" I have done for many years. I hit two sporting goods stores and two home improvement stores. Crowds did not exist, I was surprised. Plenty of room to park and it was not crazy at all.

Credit card numbers are through the roof as people spend now in hopes of paying later. Here in Kansas, they are saying that fully 1/3 of people cannot pay their utility bills. That is an amazing number. We are in trouble folks as the government spends like a drunken sailor and the rest of society does the same all the while complaining abut the government.
I wish people would quit with giving "Drunken Sailors" a bad name. A "Drunken Sailor" only spends money until he is broke and then goes back to the ship. The government spends until it runs out of money and then just prints some more.

I was semi-mountainous on the east coast up by Canada, one way up and one way down and yet felt trapped. And even the Sheriff up there wasn't worth a sht and not to be trusted. I'm out west now last few years were I belong at least my heart has always been in the west. And I have lived all over America and not just as a transient.

My neighbors not worth a sht but the big difference I have multiple roads out. As well as secluded area's I can set up shop so to speak away from the multicultural hordes that will be heading for your hills. Don't get down on yourself about not making it to the hills because that's were the rats are heading when the SHTF scenario comes about. And none of those mother f--kers have a clue.

Spoon fed from birth to the grave, poison by public education and pseudo intellectualism. By 30 even most have never even own a vehicle or held a drivers license. First generation imports from every socialist sht-hole country in the world. All working at the tech. company's.

I use one credit card each month, then pay it off before the bill comes via their web site. Cred rating has jumped to "exceptional". I just do this just in case I may actually need it.

SGAmmo had a black Friday sale that lasted through Monday, the 28th...prices on case lots of some calibers were lower than I've seen in quite a while and their usual free shipping on $200 or more...The same brass-cased 9MM FMJ that Academy sells for $12.95 a box delivered...yeah, I'll take that deal whether I need any or not.
