After a round about trip from the East Coast to the 'Left' Coast and through the California red tape, the 'Harrisburg Special' is finally home! :D

A BIG THANK YOU to Matt and all the Ruger folks in Harrisburg!

Since funding for these shows is tight (ie we're on our own), at most of the display shows, we try to do a fund raising raffle. This year in Harrisburg, we raffled off a Ruger New Model Blackhawk, 44 Special, flat-top with a 4 5/8" barrel.

The gun had received the full Doug Turnbull Restoration treatment: detail stripping and polishing of all metal parts, Warning statement on barrel removed, color case hardening of the cylinder frame, loading gate and hammer, and bone/charcoal bluing of the grip frame, barrel and ejector rod housing. It is estimated that there was close to $750 worth of work performed on the gun, all of which was donated by Doug Turnbull Restoration to the RCA for fund raising. For more information on the work and services they provide, please visit their website at http://www.turnbullrestoration.com.

Along with the gun, a carved Mexican style holster was included. This holster was generously donated by Bob Croyle, of Talo, Inc. Talo specializes in "Special Edition Firearms for Discriminating Collectors". They are a wholesale buying cooperative serving the independent sporting goods dealer since 1965. TALO products can be ordered through your local dealer. You can visit their website at http://www.taloinc.com for more information.

We sold 50 tickets at $20 each for this raffle. We actually sold about 30 tickets by Saturday afternoon and it wasn't until the show promoter made an announcement on the loud speaker that the raffle was taking place for a Doug Turnbull restored gun that we sold the remaining tickets...in just a few minutes. I couldn't get back to the RCA table fast enough and all of the tickets were sold! It shows you how well regarded Ruger firearms and Doug Turnbull Restoration are with the public.

We held the drawing at 2PM on Sunday and the lucky winner was one of our dis-players, Terry Tawney, who had driven all the way from California to display part of his Ruger Double Action revolvers collection.

Congratulations to Terry!

It sure was tough having to take it back from Terry in order to ship it to his FFL dealer!
