UH, ok I guess. The handguard is only there to guard the support hand from heat and prevent direct contact of the barrel with support. Did the modification actually help?

Yeah groups went from 3" to 1". Anytime your barrel is getting randomly touched by something it throws everything off when firing.

i agree bypass.on the 16" installed a full rib faxon handguard.the rifle speed 12 position block- sets 1/2" in front of hand guard.no gas or metal interference. block is higher get rifle speeds straight tube. i believe on the 16 " it is the intermediate length tube
