Hammer or No Hammer?

How many people here have snaged their hammer wher drawing they're gun ?

Normally, I wouldn't think it likely.
I've been known to change my position in the face of compelling discussion...
And I find Patcannon's points most compelling.
I may not abandon my beloved hammer spur, but I'll certainly be practicing more DA.

Guess I'm the odd man out here as I actually prefer shooting DA. With the Ruger action the cylinder locks up long before the hammer falls. This makes it very easy to stage your DA trigger stroke. Pull until the cylinder locks up, pause a moment to fine tune sight alignment, continue pull until the shot breaks. Now, in a pure self defense situation there's no time for that...but on the range, just shooting for fun, it's amazing how much your DA accuracy goes up after learning the technique.

That is super cool advice. Maybe obvious for most here, but I never thought of doing it that way. Been doing pistols for quite a while, but getting back into revo's. Mostly because I am too old and fat to bent over and pick up the brass.

I tried that just now and works for me ...
