Hoover, Alabama gun show was good to me this past weekend. I picked up a 2 3/4" and a 6" blued Security Six to go with the 4" I already had. Very pleased with them. The 2 3/4" gun is in exceptionally nice condition, looks to have hardly been fired. I like the Six series revolvers; strong, rugged, and dependable. Here's a couple of pics.

I added these NOS Mustang grips I had to the 6" gun. I think I may do a little modifying on them - round the butt a bit and maybe eliminate the finger grooves.

I also brought home this extremely nice 5-screw S&W Combat Masterpiece that dates to 1953. I've been looking for one of these for a bit.

My partner in crime and forum member Nimrod308 brought home a Freedom Arms .45 Colt, so we had a "profitable" day in terms of adding some nice specimens to our collections.

Really nice guns. Our local shop had a like new six a year or two ago for 500. I looked at it but was not looking for another revolver. Wish I did now. I do have a GP100 I wouldn't trade for anything. I wouldn't mine a nice six to add to it. The older I get the more I like my revolver. Don't have to chase empty cases and the easiest pistol round to reload. I use double ended wadcutters and can't find a bad load.

Nice guns, the S&W is really nice , we sold a .38 6-in. Masterpiece from 1951 this past weekend, just as nice as yours, as well as a Colt 38 spec. Officers Model from 1938 in a 4 inch, I always liked the .38 special revolvers, carried them for years.;)

I saw a Security Six that was priced at $800 recently, and that is other-worldly to me. You have some nice guns.

Your 4 looks like it was reblued. Or has it been a safe queen all these years?
No, I and my buddy both looked it over very carefully. It has not been reblued, it's just that nice. It's pretty easy to spot a reblue job on the early Combat Masterpiece guns because the factory finish was not a high polish blue, more of a satin or matte blue. Reblues on these show up "too shiny."

SixGunsOnly,
I'm having a hard time feeling good for you, since I showed up to that gun show AFTER you had bought all of the good guns! Best show I've seen in two years, easily. Prices weren't great but they were better than I've seen in a while, and it seemed like people were letting go of some nice guns.
Keep that good luck comin'!

The 2 3/4 inch bbl Security-six is such a beautiful revolver! Just about on the same par as a Smith & Wesson model 66 or 19 in 2 1/2 inch bbl. If you can call a revolver sexy, those would be 2 of them that fit the description.(y)
