1958 FT 44.... Nice old gun... Dimpled ejector button.. Nasty plastic grips... New rear sight on the way. Good example of what not to do to your top strap.. The Ruger gurus say that the holes can be welded virtually beyond detection... The smiths say weld the holes and CCH the cylinder frame... I am thinking conversion candidate... Might make a sweet large frame 45 Colt... Cut it to 5.5... Steel grip frame... CLC grips... Then we could just clean it up as a 44... It is my only '58 FT 44

Old gun is tight with original action... D&T holes in top strap hurt the seller most of all... Gun sold for about 50% of what the gun would have sold for without the holes...
 
Ooooh...Bubba got ahold of that one. I've seen holes like that made to go away by a good gunsmith. If it were mine I'd get the holes fixed and keep it in the original caliber.
