gun value colt police positive

Hi all I am hopping that you can help me I have a colt police positive 38 special 1926 date on barrel not in very good shape at all someone cut the barrel as you can see
bluing is gone but it works
any idea what if any value

Value on these Colt depends mostly on mechanical condition as they are difficult to repair. As I see it this one would be be $125 to $225 depending on bore, lockup, timing, etc.

ANY .38 special is worth between $150 to $250...and there are barrels out there ,so it could be "put back".............but does one want to put too much money into a 'project gun' that when you finish willl not be worth that much more...it is what it is, a shooter , and a classic,and looking at the picture ,it appears already has the ejector rod 'bent' which happened all too often with those early guns and NO barrel shroud............
