Depending on enviromental factors....the answer is yes.

Generaly speaking....

Do's:
Grease anything that slides/rubs.
Put some inside the cam-cut of the slide which lifts/unlocks the bolt.
A little goes on top of the hammer, where the bolt rides over it.

Dont's:
Use very much.
Allow any to get on the sear-edges, disconnector, or hammer notch.
Put any sort of grease or oil on the gas piston, or inside the hole it fits into.....ever.

In warm weather, I use common USGI Rifle Grease. For use in cold weather, I prefer Lubeiplate Engine Ass'y Lube....'cause it's thinner.
There's other considerations too.
If you can find and download the US Army, operation/maintenance manual for either the M14 or M1 Garand, either one has an excellent cut-away drawing of where grease goes on these type of actions. It'll also explain what lube to use for various climate and field conditions.

Hope this helps.

I will put a recommendation in for 100% dupont made Teflon grease. It's very expensive
but the best there is and acts like no other grease I have seen.
It's almost a cross between oil and light grease.

It doesn't thin, it doesn't thicken or harden or evaporate.
You put it in place, it stays, and looks and feels like slick butter a year later.
Every other grease I have used gets tacky if used thin, and if used thick tends to get thicker.
Highly recommend this stuff. No, I am not a salesman for the stuff, just
passing on the best gun grease I have ever used.
