A couple weeks ago I bought a 45 Colt Blackhawk. I posted some pictures of it and the factory grips which didn't fit the best. I just received a set of Patrick Grashorn grips in the mail. Last Monday I sent him my grip frame, so talk about fast turn around. Wow! Fast and excellent fit. They are so comfortable. The natural grips like wood and antler or Ivory which I've never seen in person, just have that warm comfortable feeling.

So what percentage of bark would you call that? Are they thicker that the stock grips? I'm about to order a set and this is what he asked.

The grip to gun fit just couldn't be any better all the way around. I'm happy to say the least.

Veeman, when I asked him in an email, I honestly told him to make my grips like he made Bob Wrights. I did of course ask Bob first if it was ok to use his name. Good people all around. I also sent Grashorn a picture Bob had posted with his grips from Patrick Grashorn.

That worked. I looked up pictures of elk stag grips and found a picture of my own pair of Remington 75's, sent him that pic.

Very nice grips but my question is why does grass horn always fit the grips with brass screws and fittings? It might be a petty thing but it really bugs me and looks miss matched to me it don't really cost any more to use stainless parts and screws, that one thing has kept me from ever buying any of his grips.

Never even noticed that, guess it doesn't matter to me what color the screws are. Funny how some minute details some can notice and others don't. I never notice the screws were black on early OM's till someone pointed it out.

Well, I have a Flattop grip frame on the way for a set of Elk Stag grips, with the Medallions. Looking forward to it's return.

As promised, here are a couple pic's of the grips. WOW!! 6 days from my house last Saturday to Wyoming and back to my house today in Illinois. That's top shelf service. Perfect fit, look great, feel great. Patrick will definitely be getting more of my business.

Having noticed that many people do not notice the color of the grip screws and ferrule's, I am one of those that always notice and I much prefer The blue/black screw sets, even on custom grips. This is one reason I like Cary C's grips. He is one of the very few grimmakers that offers this option. Unfortunately he is semi retired now.
I do love the looks of smooth or minimal bark of the rams horn grips, but want the blue/black screw sets on them. Guess I need to find a broken pair of old Ruger grips and salvage the screw set so I'm on the hunt! Seems Cary had the market on them!
