I came across a used GP100 Match Champion that doesn't have Match Champion written on the barrel. The other side of the barrel has GP100 on it but the etching is not dark like I have seen with others. The barrel has the shortened lug like a MC would so it is a MC barrel. Out of curiosity I called Ruger and the person I talked with wasn't aware of any leaving the factory like this but she did run the SN and it's an MC.

So the question is if it did leave the factory would it make the value any better?

If the previous owner had it removed, which if they did they did a professional job doing so, would this take away from the value. I guess without knowing it's hard to tell but be interested to get some thoughts on it.

Haven't purchased it yet. Price is OK but not great. May just go buy a new one but not sure yet.

You'll want to get that is writing from Ruger in order to prove your point.

Generally not a substantial amount of dollar value added for these little oddities and darn few people view them as "collectable" or valuable.

Could very well have been employee error...happens all the time actually.
Would be more collectible if there was anybody out there that collected GP100's.
