Has anybody shimmed their hammer on their GP? I notice that mine is wearing on the right side before striking the firing pin. I see Brownells carries shims for Ruger Single Action hammers, but no double action are offered. Will these work? Thanks.

i cut mine from a automotive feeler gauge .
split the difference ,leaving .002 for clearance.

take the hammer out & chuck a pencil eraser down in a drillpress
&with fine lapping compound swirl finish the hammer .

after solving a dragging hammer ya could possibly lighten the hammer spring & still be 100% reliable ,but i still run 12# in my GPs
