GP100 Hammer for DAO Conversion

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I would like to convert my GP100 to DAO. Not sure if installing a new ruger spurless hammer (not sure on where to get one--doesn't look like Ruger sells them on line) would make the revolver DAO. Any help would be appreciated.

The spur can be ground off the hammer and I believe the single-action sear also. ...but I'm no expert.

Hmmm, guess it would help if I sent you after GP parts, not Redhawk parts- sorry 'bout that!

Anyhow, gunbroker is the best place to watch. Frequently, you'll see parts from confiscated/demilled guns for very reasonable $$.

I'd pay $40-50 (if I really wanted this one) and see about selling the BH hammers & small parts.

This is the only way I've found to get the "controlled" parts. :roll:

Edit: yes, you can cut the hammer down, and remove the SA notch w/o problems.

Thanks for the replys. I'm a little reluctant to do the modification myself as I don't have any high speed tools and would be doing it all by hand. Don't want to mess the gun up. Believe I'd better stick with the gun broker solution and see if I can locate a hammer. Thanks again.
