I have read of people having an OM or 50th Anniversary 357 mag Ruger converted to 44 Special and even a 6 shot 41 magnum (with an extra cylinder for 41 Special). I love SA Rugers and have more of this style gun than any other...

But I was wondering about DA revolvers like the GP100. Would a 41 magnum or 44 Special conversion work on a GP100 as a 6-shot, or even a 5 shot?

Virtually ANYTHING can be done ... the question is ... how much money do you want to throw at a project just to prove that fact ? :D

Looks like it can be in the link. With a vent rib barrel you'd have a sweet weapon. But if the gp is a spike grip you'd be limited on your choice of grips.

this was posted a couple threads up by gilamonster. gp100 in .44spl trying to win the ugliest gun contest

Man, you ain't kidding! I'm not a huge fan of engraving, but that's not only ugly, but qualifies as f'ugly! (this is where the 'barf' smiley comes in!)

BUT, the concept seems sound.... might be worth trolling the pawnshops for a 'beater' to convert, without all the engraving!

I'd rather stick to 357 than go to 10mm/40 S&W.

I guess the GP100 frame is smaller than the old flat top 357 Blackhawks. I just thought a 41 magnum GP100 would be sweet.

Wonder if that Speed Six is one of those from Spokane???

The GP can be a six shot .41Spl but the .44Spl or .41Mag would have to be a five shot.
