I am looking for information about what exact government model Mark II that was issued to the military!! Was it the 6 7/8 inch bull barrel or was it the 6 7/8 inch target model barrel??

The exact one issued to military was the MK678US. It was a 6 7/8" bull barrel.

Both actually. There were a handful of prototype mark II with a 6 7/8" tapered barrel. Then the actual government contract was a 6 7/8" bull barrel. About 18000 guns were issued to the military. Only a few made it into civilian hands and those were acquired by employees who took their subscription number. Later a few we're sold by the Ruger auction. If I had to guess I would say about 25 or less are in private collections. This information is not to include the government cataloged gun. Those were not U.S. marked.
