That's Nice!

I was leaning towards another origin, cf prefit, krg bravo.

So many good calibers to choose from now.

I'm drawn to 7PRC.

I run a Winchester M1917 that was custom sporterized by my wife's great uncle for her grandfather.

It's currently at my gunsmith having a brake put on it and the stock extended a couple of inches (grandpa was a bit shorter than I am). Replacing the Leupold with one that has side focus.

deer, pigs and varmints.
I have not had the opportunity to hunt pigs yet, but I have an AR and a Scout in .450 Bushmaster for them.

For varmints I have an AR in .224 Valkyrie that will reach out and touch something.

My wife hates venison, so I do not hunt deer, but if I or my son ever decide to go after antelope, I have a 1903 that will be perfect for them

Mine is a Tikka 595 in 308 Winchester that I've owned for over 30 years. I have a number of other rifles and calibers, but tend to use the Tikka for everything from groundhogs to deer.

Mine is really simple, bone stock RAc .308. with a 3-12 Vortex.
I'm full size (6' 1", 190) but just love that little rifle.

Can't hunt any more but for over 40 years, mine was a S & W 1500 (Howa) in 300 Win Mag, B & C stock, Leupold Var-X II 3x9. Used for everything from many ground squirrels to several elk. Used it while guiding, plinking, etc. Successful shots up to 500+ yards.

My 375 H&H has taken my biggest moose, and my only brownie. But it's blue which is a downside up here. The ones I use the most are my 30-06 and 338 WM both, MkII's both stainless, both wear paddle stocks. I pretty much have only shot moose and Caribou, for a lot of years. I'm too big to chase after sheep or goats. I haven't hunted mulies since the early 70's.

Many, many fine choices here for a hunting rifle.

But since the thread is about rifles,, I really didn't have anything to contribute to the OP's concept. I hunt with a handgun, and have done so almost exclusively for over 35-40 years now. I can only recall one hunt where I purposely took a rifle due to my host told me that the area we'd be hunting could present shots out to 400+ yds. Major power line cuts. So,, along with my handgun, I did carry a rifle,, for that "just in case" long distance shot presentation. Kinda the reverse of the occasional hunter that carries a handgun for that just in case short range shot.
That rifle has been loaned to friends for their deer hunts & such,, and has killed a lot more deer than I ever have by others. A Ruger M77 in .270 Win. I've only killed one deer with it,, but it's taken 6 deer in the hands of others.

My go to hunting firearm is a handgun.

I had a "custom" 260 built 15? Yrs bak. Took Rem SA and sent it to Long Rifles Inc for their blueprint, True Up job. Ordered #5 1/2 Brux bbl with 1-8 1/2 twist. Manners MCS SL stock. Installed Rifle Basix trigger set at 2 1/2lbs. Custom ordered reamer to have 130 wt bullets loaded 2.800" OAL and have bullet with 0.015" freebore. Loaded Lapua brass with 0.003" neck tension. It is a Hammer w Sierra 130gr tippd GameKings. A solid 3/8", 5 shot group rifle at 100yds. Now the sad news. Turned my Daughter and SIL loose on farm deer. Just really lost interest in shooting deer. Late Fall, early Winter are really good fishing times!!

Depends what I am hunting. For deer, I have a remington 700 stainless, synthetic Sendaro with a 26 inch fluted, heavy barrel in 308 Winchester. For bigger game, I generally use a Ruger 77R in .338 WM or a Turnbull lever action in .50 Alaskan.
