Between hunts with clients sometimes I even get to hunt . Took this buck the last week of the season.Nov 2022. Rifle is a 77 Mk II , 300 win mag, with a Bartlein bbl, in a MPI stock.

I have several "Go to Hunting Rifles". All are
my favorite.

Currently using a Rifle that is seldom talked about or
very little is known about; it's my straight from the
factory unmodified 2012 Remington Model 7, bolt
action 308Win, Black finished, Blk synthetic stock,
with a Leupold VXIII 2.5-8x36mm scope.

It's easy to use, safe, lightweight, easy to handle,
easy to shoulder, point, and shoot.
You're not going to wear yourself out roaming
around with this Rifle.

Model 7 epitomizes the "handy rifle". Buddy has a pretty one in 260, I admit to having lustful thoughts towards that rifle.

This thread reminds me that I really need to lose some of my disused rifles which were acquired for northern hunts. If I get to hunt Florida this season I'll use a handgun as I always have.

For me, it's a toss-up between the '94 Winchester 30-30 that I bought at a gun show several years ago for $265, and the old Interarms '92 Rossi .45LC Carbine that I used to shoot CAS with. Both are dern good guns and almost interchangeable for hunting purposes. Least-ways for the type of hunting that I do, which I must admit, is not all that much these days.

A "Liberty" model 77 in .30-06 with a Leupold 2-7X scope for the open country. A 96/44 with a Leupold 1-4X for the woods.
