Got up early to beat the rain here in Southwest Virginia and do a little .22 rifle shooting. Took what has become my "Go To" .22 rifle, a Stainless 10/22 carbine with synthetic stock, one that may be considered one of Ruger's "All Weather" rifles.

Went up to my mountain top cabin and rifle range, did some shooting into my bullet trap placed exactly fifty feet from the back door of the cabin, there I can practice rifle position shooting under the shade and protection of the back porch.

Ten shots of CCI Standard Velocity fired from the sitting position:

The carbine rides in a shotgun scabbard on my side by side ATV I got from Sportsman Guide for like $20. The scabbard also fits lever action rifles, and my Ruger 77/44 bolt action .44 Magnum carbine:

Then on to some fun with some .22 rifle steel, targets are 3 1/2" in diameter, same size as the aiming black of an NRA 50 yard Smallbore Rifle Target. These targets are placed at 50 yards from the cabin:

This rifle is a lot of fun, and the stainless steel construction makes it worry free if caught out in the weather. If I ever had to pare down to one .22 rifle, this one would be it for me....

Can you see this one?

Probably not. I'm doing this the same way as I do on the Smith & Wesson forum, copy the image link, then put

I can see the photos in my post but others can't see them...

I can't see them either. But it's always fun to plink with the .22 and I had my Heritage Arms .22 revolver out today for a little fun before the high humidity got to me.

I can see them fine too. And one day, I'd love to own my own mountain top cabin and rifle range.
Sweet set-up!

If you intend to carry a rifle on the UTV full time, get a "Sky Rack" and attach it to the roll bar(only if you have a hard top). I've had one of these racks in my Ranger for a couple of years and the rifle stays protected from everything except dust. I even forgot to remove the rifle the last time I washed the UTV and it was dry when I discovered the oops.
Works for everything shorter than your vehicle's roll bar is wide w/o undue marring.
