Hello:

With retirement and a move coming quickly, I have pared down my handgun collection. With that said, I have the following for sale:

A pair of new Dall Sheep horn grips for a Ruger Old Model Blackhawk. These were originally manufactured by Roy for a .45 caliber. They should fit just fine on your Old Model Blackhawk. Roy Fishpaw needs no introduction if you know handgun grips. These were placed on my revolver and never carried or fired. They are literally brand new. No cracks, etc. These normally cost $600-650 with a LONG wait. I will sacrifice for $475 shipped within the USA only. PayPal preferred. Email me at : [email protected] for pictures and payment instructions. Serious inquiries only, thanks.

Here are pictures of OldMaineWoodsman's Fishpaw grips.

Very nice grips!

Is that the serial number to the gun on the top grip panel?

Tim

Yes. The panel that reads 45.11410 means .45 caliber and serial number. On the other panel, 5.25.2017 is date of manufacture. Roy's initials are at the top of each. Hope that helps.

Are they just for looks? Or are they tough enough to use?
Rando, I have sheep horn grips on two guns and shoot them both; I don't bang them around or take them in the field, but I do shoot them regularly. One is a .44 Spl and the other a .45Colt. Hope that helps answer your question.

To rando's question. I have two guns that have dall sheep grips on them. Both are Ruger Hunter models and see field use every deer season.

I asked Roy Fishpaw that question when I had him do my first set of Dall horn grips and he just chuckled and asked me if I knew what rams did with their horns when they were fighting?

Horn is tough stuff. I know of a gun that's literally been drug by a sheep guide crawling across so much rock up high it's really rough cosmetically, but the bighorn sheep grips are tough enough they don't show the wear the rest of the gun does. The grip makers will all tell you that of the horn they use, Dall ram is the toughest.

I had a chance to try these on a couple of early OM 45 colts today at a fellow forum members place and although they weren't perfect, they did fit very close. I am encouraged that they will fit my 41 Special that is at Gallagher's.
