front sight removal on mini-14 ranch rifle

wanting to put a flash suppressor with the front sights on the mini-14 .how do i get the origional one off after i take the pin out? is it threaded on,pressed on ?? or what .. help me if you can

It's pressed on. Some of them are very tight, some not so much.
Some gentle heat may help it turn loose.

FWIW, add-ons may have a certain cool factor....but accuracy-enhancers they aint.
