I ordered my new SP101 on 18Aug, was shipped from dealer's east coast distributor 21Aug and I picked it today 1Sep. Serial 574-163xx told me it was newly produced, but the included fired test cartridge is dated 28Jul09. It seems Ruger is rapidly moving out and selling their inventory!

Yep,, they try & ship guns as quickly as they can. They don't "warehouse" as much as they used to.
