Got the following from a gunsmith who specializes in TC Encores and other single shots. I've got no connection to him or his business - but I do appreciate wildcat cartridges that use off-the-shelf dies and easy-to-find brass and bullets:

For .44 GP, USE THE BRASS & DIES YA PROBABLY GOT ALREADY!
Buy or rechamber a barrel to fit the horde of brass you aren't using instead of having to buy brass!
In the pic above are .44 GP cases loaded & ready to load, EXCEPT the far right case:
Left to right
1 to 3 are from .30/06 brass.
4 is a straightened out .308 Win case cut to 1.8".
5 is a cut off .444 Marlin case.
6 is a straightened out .356 Win. case.... rimmed.
Far right, 7 is a .356 Win. case straightened out and left full length for comparison.

.44 GP, a quick overview first

1.8" straight wall.

Made from any approx. .470" base diameter case.

Rimless or rimmed.

Think of .44 GP as a stretch version of .44 Auto Mag
or a shortened .444 Marlin case to meet 1.8" case hunting regulations.

.44 Auto Mag is based on a .30/06 or .308 Win. lopped back to 1.3",
.44 GP is 1/2" longer, much more potent, and does NOT require case reaming!

More details, logic behind .44 GP, targets, and some loading data in the next newsletter (I'LL TRY TO POST LINKS BELOW). Watch for it or ignore if .44 cal. is not your cup of tea.
