Hi I have a 3 inch fixed sight GP-100 and I am looking for a high visible front sight. Does anyone have any idea where to find one?

A 3" fixed sight GP100's front sight is pinned in. There may be someone who makes one but it might just be easier to paint it. First, degrease it good with acetone, then apply a coat of white model paint. Let that dry and then coat with whatever color suits your needs. Some like orange, some like the bright green, others like other colors. Pick the one that YOUR eyes pick up the best. The white paint fills in all the serrations on the sight and makes the second color really show up much better.

Yep …. What Ron said. I use Testors neon green paint cause seems like most of my targets are orange. Green makes a nice contrast.

Don't knock me here. I paint mine a florescent hot pink. My daughter gave me the idea after she did her pistol with pink fingernail polish. I tried the other colors with orange coming in second.

You color your front sight with what works best for YOU. That bright pink looks like it will show up really good especially in the late afternoon, early evening when it's starting to get darker/longer shadows, or on an overcast day.

I happen to have 3" fixed sight models in blue and stainless. The hard to find 3" model is the blued with adjustable sights, I think they only made a limited run of those. I can find a 2 1/2" model (a distributor model) but haven't found a 3" yet.

They're out there. Ruger must have done a run of stainless GP-100 3" fixed sight guns recently. Searching on 'Ruger 1715' returns a bunch of results on Gunbroker and gun.deals.

And I just found a clean used one, too.

Took a couple snaps that won't do it justice. I imagine it was a security company contract or something. Shoots great, feels great! I call it the worlds toughest .38Spl
