My first Ruger was my Blackhawk. I got it from Bob Chow in San Francisco, he recommended it for rattlesnakes on my country property. Have since acquired many Rugers.
I knew F. Bob Chow personally. I grew up in San Francisco as a kid and spent many a Saturday in his shop looking at the guns on display. When I got older one of the first handguns I bought at a pawn shop was a 1911A1 .45 ACP. I stopped in at the shop to show him my new "toy" and he said to leave it with him to give i good checking out. Come back next Saturday and I'll give you my report on its condition. When I went back he gave me the gun and said it was good. Said he'd tweaked a few things but otherwise it was just fine. Tweaked is right. Full trigger job, new front sight and S&W adjustable rear sight installed on the slide. Slide was tightened and the gun was rally accurate.

Mr.Chow is long gone now and his sons have closed shop, driven out of business by the San Francisco communist party. They were the very last gun shop in town. Me? I left SF for good and always way back in 1968. Probably one of the smartest moves I've ever made.

Welcome, you'll find this one of if not the best sites around for Ruger owners AND the least confrontational I've been on.
