My first Ruger was my Blackhawk. I got it from Bob Chow in San Francisco, he recommended it for rattlesnakes on my country property. Have since acquired many Rugers.

I knew F. Bob Chow personally. I grew up in San Francisco as a kid and spent many a Saturday in his shop looking at the guns on display. When I got older one of the first handguns I bought at a pawn shop was a 1911A1 .45 ACP. I stopped in at the shop to show him my new "toy" and he said to leave it with him to give i good checking out. Come back next Saturday and I'll give you my report on its condition. When I went back he gave me the gun and said it was good. Said he'd tweaked a few things but otherwise it was just fine. Tweaked is right. Full trigger job, new front sight and S&W adjustable rear sight installed on the slide. Slide was tightened and the gun was rally accurate. My first Ruger was my Blackhawk.
