I finally got to the range to test my new (to me) 4" Redhawk in 45 Colt. What a pleasure to shoot! I came up with some Winchester cowboy loads to test out easy shooting, along with a box of Buffalo Bore +P to see what full house feels like. Wow, what a difference! The cowboy stuff was a ball to shoot and I'm excited about getting my own loads worked up using one of the Unique recipes found elsewhere on this forum. It isn't easy finding components around town so I've got some mail orders pending. I love Rugers. Years ago I had a friend with a 7.5" Redhawk 44 mag and I have a nice old single six that I really enjoy shooting, but this 45 Colt is a dandy - great balance and it fits me just right. I appreciate everything I've read here on this forum - thanks for a great place to learn!

I love mine, I installed a hiviz front sight and rosewood eagle grips. I also filed lateral grooves along the backstrap to help with fast da shooting. Last time out I put 6 of my loads (250 grain bullet around 1000) into agroup the size of a playing card at 25 yards offhand pretty quick. That's better than my sa groups. I called it a day after that. My da groups are usually around 8" at 25 yards.
