Finally, almost forgot about it, I went and picked up my first #3. Pretty darn good shape. 'Tis a 200th Yr model in .45-70. :)

Hope the #1's accept it. :lol:

Let me know how bearable the recoil is because I like the short lite handi size of those rifles but I am worried that it will be vicious.

This one will get lesser loads I believe. Have a #1 in the same chambering for the heavier stuff if such extra oomph is ever needed.

My #3 in 45-70 is my go-to gun when hunting any big game. With a stout load, it will get your attention. Off a bench, it can be downright painful. If you limit to factory loads (Rem., Win.) you should not have any worries. With the load I use, it will rattle your teeth. (350gr, at 2000 fps)
