I've been bemoaning for awhile that 32 H&R Mag ammo has become very scarce at what I consider to be a reasonable price. I've seen it as high a $2 per round so I've been using 32 S&W Long for the range and saving my 100gr JHP for when I carry my SP101. I have been able to make a couple of buys on Gunbroker. 100 rounds of LFN reloads that came from an estate sale. It was sold as components so I won't use these in my SP 101 but for $19.75 + shipping beggars can't be choosey. Just received 10 boxes of 98gr HBWC from Load-X out of Santa Rosa, CA for $42 per 50 rounds. This will keep me going for awhile.

Georgia Arms (where I've been buying ammo from for years) is now offering 32 S&W Long in a 85gr JHP. I called to see if they would be starting up the 32 H&R Mag ammo again and was told that they can't get the components. I assume it's the brass that's in short supply but it's available.

I wonder if their .32 S&W Long has enough velocity to expand. I'm not sure I'd count on it.
1st time I've ever seen JHP in 32 S&W Long. I went through Gunbroker just to see what was being offered. No JHP. I'm wondering if they are trying to pass this off as .32 +P since they are not making any 32 H&R Mag. I don't load but from what I've read I guess they could use small Magnum primers and the same powder as is used in Magnum rounds. Don't know how a .32 revolver would handle that.

I never heard of using magnum primers in a 32 Long load. They might be able to use the same powder, just not as much. I'm at opposite ends of the spectrum. In a 32 Long I use Bullseye, a relatively fast powder and 2400 in the 32 mag., a relatively slow powder when it comes to handgun loads. Neither of those powders require a magnum primer in the calibers mentioned.

I'm glad you were able to find some ammo.

With the various issues in the supply chains & the beer virus,, MANY, MANY calibers were put on the back burner & haven't been made in a few years. That's why many of us choose to handload our own. But even then, we are at the mercy of finding components to load what we wish. Brass is a key to start making ammo. Bullets are probably the easiest due to the fact we can cast them if we wish. Powder selections may be limited,, but several work in many calibers. But the primers,, that's where ALL of us are struggling to survive.
I had a few discussions with some of the industry ammo makers & reloading equipment. My discussion centered around the FACT that if the ordinary citizen can't buy components, especially primers,, then nobody will be buying reloading equipment. That will kill some businesses.
The makers of reloading equipment that I spoke with that were well aware of that, (Dillon & Hornady) and lamented the issue as well. They both said many discussions were happening using that exact argument. RCBS kinda blew it off,, but I understand why. They are owned by the same company (Vista Outdoors) and they apparently don't care as much.

And I'm sure the anti-gunners are happy. When we can't get ammo for our firearms,, then they have effectively enacted a "gun control" because without ammo, guns are just wall hangers.

Hopefully we'll see more & more ammo & components become available at reasonable prices before too long.

I have a LOT of ammo, reloads, brass, bullets etc. Got it a long time back when I thought I would be shooting this more. In case you did not know, most revolvers will let you shoot .32 acp as it is a semi-rimmed cartridge. The shortage of new manufacture may be because the efforts and components are going into making the ..327 Federal cartridges. Just a thought.

Did not know that it's possible to shoot .32 acp in .32 H&R Mag. Thx for the info. At least that's not in short supply. Just ordered some yesterday. Right now neither is .32 S&W Long and I've already stocked up on those.

Yes, you can shoot S&W Long in a .32 H&R Mag….and also in a .327 Federal Magnum.
Like my SP101 and Single Seven.

Here's a pic of some Georgia Arms 32 Long and 32 Mag. I took today at the Atlanta gun show today. He told me that this ammo is only for all the gun shows they do. Figure it's like the contents of a traveling circus.

Just because they have it at a gun show does not mean they have it in the warehouse or if they can even make any more! The pics show the prices.

They are making S&W Long. "Waiting for components" for H&R Mag. When you select it from their caliber menu it says it's not available. IMO it's kind of stupid to take it to gun shows and not sell off what they have.

You are one lucky guy. Getting harder and harder to fill specialty ammo needs. I have been looking for .38 S&W , .38 short, forever. I had a single box of Remington Performance Wheel Gun, and have found absolutely nothing since. I would pay the asking price for even a single box. It's just not there.

Gunbroker.com has both. Both going for $50 per box.

Grabagun.com has .38 S&W FIOCCHI $44.99 / 50. Shipping is $12.99. Fast service. I recently got 9x18 and CCI Mini Mag from them and just ordered some .32 ACP.

I have just updated all my entries in my ballistics file for .32 H&R Mag, and out of the 18 entries, only 3 have actual ammo you can buy online (Selwayarmory and 2 from Buffalo Bore, and one of the Buffalo Bore costs 'only' $.77/rd). Georgia Arms has apparently decommitted this caliber, and it is clearly not available on their website anywhere. (https://www.georgia-arms.com/32-h-r-mag-1/). If you are interested in seeing the ballistics for this caliber, and 34 other handgun and 25 rifle calibers, as well as the links to online ammo purchasing, just message me and my ballistics file is available to all for free. I ship it out as a PDF file, which actually comes from an Excel file.

The packaging hasn't changed much, except for the price and the area code. Apparently the area code changed in 1995; I probably bought this ammo shortly before that, so, 30 years ago? My, how time flies! By the way, that's Starline Brass they used.
