Favorite SR4756 load for 45 Colt

My dealer surprised me yesterday by giving me 16lbs of IMR SR-4756 that someone ordered and never picked up. :lol:

Anyone got a pet load using 255gr cast?

Some folks have all the luck. I haven't used any yet but I'm going to.

Look for an older IMR or DuPont loading pamphlet and you'll find some loads in there.

and check with member Paul5388 . He is a great fan of that powder and has collected lots of load data for it.

Actually its only 10 lbs. I thought the cans were 8 lbs each.

Hodgdon's book lists the following:

250 grain cast:

8.2 grains, 786 fps, 10,600 psi
9.0 grains, 864 fps, 12,200 psi
