I have several hand guns in different caliber and makes. Some are expensive some not so much. I also have 5 Rugers. 2 mks, and a P-85, P94, and P 90. But it seems the P-94 is my go to range gun. I don't know why but it finds its way to the range more than all the rest put together. I put it up against the Sig, Glock, colt and S&W. And it shoots just as well as all. And better than a couple. In wheel guns I have a Ruger and Taurus.. But I have a Dan Wesson. That cant be beat. It amazes me that the average guy gets caught up in the Hype of the high price guns and over look the more affordable weapons. That in most cases are just as good. But I have never met a hand gun I didn't like. Well the Hi-point. And some of the Saturday night specials. But even the Hi-point from what I have read is a decent gun . Its just soooo ugly.

The P94 is a great gun hornady, I agree. Kinda an old Mr. Reliable.

It shoots well for accuracy, is comfortable to shoot and eats everything I put into it, factory loads to powder-puff reloads to max powder reloads, both lead and jacketed. Not really meaning to dive into over-max loads here.

I think it is a pretty good looking pistol also. Cheap enough to be modded into something with your own personal flair.

A guy/lady could have a P94 and a PC4 and cover quite a bit of shooting with one caliber. This is what drew me to he combination, and then I found the PC4 shoots so well.

I guess we can just keep this between the two of us. I won't tell any one if you won't. Nobody else needs to know. ;)

+1 on the P94s I have 2 one in 9MM and one in 40CAL and they go great with my PC9 and PC4. Sometimes its hard to decide which one or two or three or what the heck all four to take to the range. Of course if my daughter goes with me I HAVE to take the SR9 but I don,t mind I like shooting that one also :D Dusterman

I like most all autos too but when it comes to Rugers, the P 97 is the one that goes to the range with me every time. In fact, most days it goes every place with me. As to the Hi Point, I can only comment on their .45. The ergonomics may not be good as others but it works and there some vastly higher priced guns out there that give it a damned good run for ugly :)

I had a Hi Point and sold it to get my P95. They are decent but you do get what you pay for. I don't necessarily think they are ugly like everyone says either. They have great customer service. I sent mine in because it was jamming and they replaced some parts and sent it back with a extra magazine. However it still had a tendency to jam every now and then. A little to much for my liking. If you read there forums you can find a lot of help on fixing the jamming problems so it would seem that it happens to a lot of them. It was a great starter gun though. I would recommend them to anyone on a tight budget that just wants to have a gun. I have a friend that has the .40 and it never jams.

As far a Rugers go for the price and quality I don't think you can beat them. I only have two, A mark III target and a P95. I love both of them and take both to the range with me. The MK III gets more use just because I'm cheap and like to shoot the .22. I don't think I could pick a favorite between the two, they both have there purpose and serve it well.

My only Ruger is a P-944. I like it. It is accurate & reliable.
Hornady I have an old beat up Dan Wesson model 15-2 that I'm attached to myself. It is my only centerfire wheelgun. It ain't pretty but I like it a lot.

I have a ruger 10/22, sr9, sr9c, and p89. It is a toss up between the p89 and the 10/22. I like the rifle for cheap shooting and fun factor, but the p89 is, "go to war reliable." It is a tough choice which one I like more.

My favorite Ruger will always be my Single Six

Because it's the first Gun I legally bought for myself when I turned 21 back in '79

I was going to ask why no mention of revolvers, my favorite Ruger is a 44-40 Vaquero.
I know, I know, I'm a real semi-auto guy but it is my favorite Ruger.....and it's damn pretty.

I like Rugers. I like a number of Rugers. My favorite Ruger, though is hands down my 4.62 inch Blackhawk .45 Convertible. Not much into autos these days but my favorite Ruger auto is the P90 in any trim with the P95 coming in second.

My favorite: My GP100. Followed closely by my BH .45 convertible with 5.5 inch barrel. They have tenure and will always have a home.

My GP100 followed by my Mark II, the 44s & 45s are just too expensive to plink with until I get in to reloading!

I'll chime in. I always fall back on my P-85. It's never missed a beat. It is probably the most reliable semi-auto I have ever owned.
