A friend of mine has a 1959 Single Six, an easy 95% condition. The grips still look black- they have not browned out yet. Very light turn ring on the cylinder, great bore, no dents or scratches, and the blueing I would rate at 98%. Has one small spot of wear at the end of the barrel. I need another gun like I need a hole in the head, but I held it, and now I got to have it. He is a good friend, so I want to offer a price that is fair to the both of us. Any ideas what that would be?

Well.... The grip frame and grips are worth an easy $200, and the fire control parts will bring about $55-$60....unless it has the early (skinny) trigger, which will bring an additional $10-$15. Then there's the steel ejector rod housing at about $30.....and after all that, you still got a barreled reciever, cylinder, and all the pins, screws and springs to account for.

So I'm thinking that if it's in good mechanical condition, about $350-$375 sounds fair. Maybe a touch more if you like it a lot.
