Curious if somebody on this site was able to get the factory CCH 1S 45-70 at Amoskeag this past weekend?
I believe it to be one of several guns that went to Turnbull Restoration in 1992 for color case hardening. In that group of guns was one or two Super Bearcats we heard at the time (would have been original Super Bearcats) as well as who knows what else. I believe Ruger probably sent some Blackhawks that direction as well as Ruger was shopping for a nice finish (also economical) to put on their 1993 release Vaquero.

Was Henry's (Rodeschin) CCH 45 Colt Blackhawk (47-45532) sold at the November 2022 Amoskeag Auction one of those revolvers done by Turnbull for the factory? It shipped according to ruger.com in 1997 but who knows how long it sat before being sold to Rody?

It may have been. The gun would have been built in 1992 at the right time. I've sent a request off to Turnbull to see if I can turn anything up, but so far nothing. Would be nice to see the entire list of what Ruger sent.
