I have close to 2000 rounds through my wrangler and really like it but recently the extractor seems to have gotten out of alignment with cylinder , will not push through as it has in the past. and comes up against a hard stop.
The only solution I have found is to literally drown it with gun oil and then it will eject normally.
Pin does not seem to be bent (rolled it on table top) but ???
Any suggestions other then keeping lots of oil available?

Are you looking to see if the cylinder holes are aligned with the rod before attempting to eject? Most Ruger single actions do not exactly align against a stop for ejection.

On the other hand, if it used to align, maybe the hand is worn?

The cylinder freewheels in both directions when the loading gate is open?

The hand is the piece of the revolver action that sticks through the recoil shield behind the cylinder and causes rotation by pushing against the cylinder ratchet teeth. If the cylinder does not freewheel in both directions, typically rotating the cylinder back against the hand aligns the ejector with the chamber. Not sure if this is the case with the Wrangler designs, it is broadly true of many other Ruger SA revolvers.

Cylinder does free wheel in both directions.
As long as lots of oil solves the problem , I guess it's not a problem but does seem strange

Just checked
Screw was slightly loose
Feels like the rod is realigned
Will know better when I go to the range on tuesday
It makes perfect sense now
Many ,many thanks and will confirm

I was going to suggest you check the housing screw. gunman42782 beat me too it. Glad to see you got it figured out.
Thanks
It's now obvious and will be confirmed Tuesday at the range
The forum demos its value again
Thanks

If the ejector housing screw was loose and caused your ejection problems, you might want to remove it, spray some brake or carb cleaner on screw to remove oils, then apply a very small drop of (blue) Loctite on that screw, then tighten down just past snug. NOT, gorilla tight. Hand grip frame/panel screws also require looking after, as the recoils/usage can loosen them up too. All apart of having a SA.

Thanks for advice
Plan to hand tighten to be sure that's the issue and then maybe have someone more qualified apply the locktite
Seems simple but at my age where I used to dive in I now go in feet first.
Thanks again to all.
