Ever have to stone the leading edge of a Redhawk trigger?

I have three Redhawks but one, a 44 mag w/4 inch barrel, has an annoying edge on the trigger. Neither of the other two are like that. But with this one, even firing mild loads (e.g. 220 grain plated bullet ahead of 7 grains of Unique) the trigger is uncomfortable. It feels like it's going to cut me.

Ever had that happen? I guess I'll just take the gun apart and stone the edge down. Unless you've got other advice.

thanks

Well, if you didn't want to mess with the gun you could always wear a glove, but I'd go along with a little smoothing myself. :)

I have an OM SBH and the grooved trigger offends my finger with heavier loads. I wear a glove for extended shooting, not wanting to mod an OM.

Yes, about every one of my revolvers, both Ruger and S&W, have gotten some degree of smoothing on the trigger face and edges. From just breaking a sharp edge to full on mirror polishing.

Smoothe it with 600 wetordry sandpaper or maybe scrape it lightly with a utility knife then sand with wetordry or a Scotchbrite...I would stay away from power tools on this simple project, you shouldn't have to take the trigger out to do this.....If you have an old leather belt you can cut a strip off of it and with a little car polishing compound or abrasive cleanser you can strop the trigger in the gun and you have done a good job...
