I bought the blued model of one of these SP101 engraved Talo editions for my wife's upcoming birthday. I showed them to her a while back and she really liked the blue as opposed to the stainless.
Hopefully it was long enough ago for it to be at least somewhat of a surprise.
She likes a simple home/self defense pistol. However I really wanted to get her something more special if I could and accidentally came across these Talo's.
Solid and as simple as she prefers, just nicer, prettier?
Practically, it'll be better than her Lady Smith because of it's weight, somewhat longer barrel and slightly better recoil.
Apparently these came out for a while and then disappeared and then returned more recently. It's another one of those Ruger mysteries.
Personally, I think they weren't cost effective to produce and were pulled for a more advantageous market. BTW, they're machanically engraved not lasered.
