Energy & Velocity 2" bbl. vs 3"

I'm getting another SP101 (.357) strictly for a nightstand gun. I'll load it with .38 +p so the wife can handle the recoil. My question is; Will I pick up much energy and velocity if I decide to get the 3" bbl. version?

You will not gain enough speed or thump to make any difference whatsoever. In fact, you may even shoot the shorter barrel better, making it one million percent more powerful than a miss. Get either one. You will be happy either way.
