Has anyone said anything positive about the new models they announced? Seems since it wasn't a 5-shot nobody is happy. IMO, a Ruger fan is a Ruger fan even if what's new doesn't suit their needs. All I see thus far is gripes and groans.

If you read more closely in a number of threads here and elsewhere, there is a mix of responses, though--as you suggest--they've t(r)ended % wise toward disappointment. A number of folk have been positive, and not all of the negatives "anti 327 or .32__" as some have tried to portray, but also a great many "nice but wrong platforms." I'm probably in the latter camp, being a big fan of the .32__s (as well as .357, .44, etc) but, in the end, welcome anything that'll give them greater exposure. Sounds like a neat gun regardless, and I'm glad for those that are glad; I just hope they don't stop there...and introduce some mid frames, a Single Six and keep up development of the SP101. I also hope the super big bore 5 shot fans get what they want too!

We are up for it here! I am the first in line to get one! With that big honking NM Blackhawk cylinder and 8 shot lock work can a 8 shot 357 be far behind? :D

I do NOT have 'magnum-itis'.
I do NOT need to impress anyone with more noise and blast.
I do NOT want arthritis in my hand & wrists.
I do NOT kill game with bigger holes (I rely on boolit placement).
I DO enjoy working loads for new cartridges & purposes.
I DO see more than one purpose for the .327 round.
I DO plan on buying one of the 8-shot Blackhawks. At least one.

Until they start saying "Made in China", I will always take a second look at the new Ruger guns.

mohavesam...that's THE best post I've seen on a forum in a loooong time! :) You nailed it with:

Kudos to you sir! :)

You can add me to the positive side as well. I think my tax refund will go towards one. 327 ammunition is a little expensive, but, as I don't shoot as much as I'd like, the ammo price won't be a major expense.

yes, i have said many positive things about rugers new offerings. i think the .327 sp101 would make a great purse gun, i wouldnt buy one because i have the same in .357 but thats just preferance. i see less of a nich for the gp100 .327. as far as the SBH i really cant see a use for it unless you have a varmit problem on a ranch. but thats just me. i like the sr9c but would buy a g19 over it for the same price.

i think they did miss the boat by making large guns with small boolits instead of putting out in say a single six in .327. i would already have an order in for that one.

didnt mean to offend.
best regards
chris

Dittos on the .327 SP-101 and SS6 (convertable).. The S6 I would buy, the SP-101 if priced right, but an 8 shot BH is a turn off personally. I wish it well though!...FWIW, Dennis

I would be interested in why tie up production time on an 8 shot blackhawkin a very small caliber. While I have little or no interest in the caliber, I would take one out the case and fondle it if it was a 6 shot super single six. An 8 shot pipsqueak 32 cant even be used for cas.

Ok, ok the 327 has a warp speed bullet. It is still a little caliber. most of what I have is 44, with one exceptiion , a 357 picked up as a project gun, so smaller than a 357 for any thing, (22's excepted) has zilch interest for ME.

Those who get them, I hope you love them and use them regularly. that caliber is just not for me. That ruger blackhawk holds no interest for me.

I'm actually thinking...maybe. I just might go for one. it would have to be Bisley-ized afterwards but I'm thinking on it. Still wish it were blued and a longer bbl. Even better, a .327 Bisley Hunter. :)

I DO wonder how long it will be before someone asks about rechambering to .32-20. Or a convertible.

Good point but it has been mentioned, but maybe not this thread. A convertible mid frame Ruger--flattop and/or New Vaquero--makes a lot of sense. USFA's already (just) done it with a limited (introductory for now?) special over the holidays for it's Single Action Army.

:D I got mine (8 shot 327 Blackhawk) Saturday :D . I was at the R&K show in Murfreesboro, TN and nearly had a meltdown when I saw it.. I don't get on the RF as much (blocked at work) so I had not heard about the new 327 guns. I bought it before I set it down. I had to have it.

Of course I admit I am eat up to the bone with ".32-itis". I have 6 32 mags and a Model 30-1 in 32 S&W Long also. I like the big bores as well but the 32 has me hooked. Its like a food you've never tried, how do you know you don't like it until you have tried it.

For those of you who are not interested in having one.... FINE, More for ME!!!!

I'll try to get back and post if I ever get the chance to go shoot it. I only have Long and Mag reloads so far.

I have not really figured out what all I might do with it except shoot it and have lots of fun!

Thanks,

32Magfan
