Wondering what fair market value is for a 3 digit serial .44 Magnum with original smooth wood grips with medallions
Gun is 95% to 98% condition no box or docs

Serial is around 400, and its a type 2 with dimpled ejector rod button

Did a search of completed auctions on GB and found 2 similar ,
the part that is confusing me is one is a 4 digit gun that has ended twice with no bids at $750
the other is a 5 digit 1960 gun that had 19 bids and closed just over $1000.

I would have thought the lower the serial the better ?
Have a friend that wants to sell his and I have to figure out fair market value

For an accurate value, a few posted pics here on RF would really help.
There are a lot of collectors here who roam the site who always keep their eyes out for guns like yours.
So the devil is in the details...3-digit guns are more desireable than the other auctions you looked at.

Didnt get pics of the gun but the serial was 3 digits in the 600's (I thought 400's in the OP),

Its a Solid 98% gun no box or docs. 6.5" barrel, original wood grips, dimpled ejector rod,

Cant find any comps but dont think its worth over $1000 so thinking $900 would be a good price for both of us ?
