Picked up a set of Eagle Ivory XR3-Red grips yesterday that are absolutely beautiful and have a few questions.

First off, are new real ivory grips still available? Went to the Eagle web site and the only thing they have are the fake ivories.

What would a ballpark value on an uncracked, unchipped set with original box and Certificate of Authenticity/Legal Import Certificate be?

The card that came with the grips states:
"Excessive heat or dryness are enimies of Ivory. Oil turns Ivory yellow, while excessive heat and Dryness cause large cracks and premature Aging". This being said and me living in the dry desert southwest, what would be the best way to keep the Ivory from drying and cracking?

Sounds like a plan Ethang. Pls send your credit card # and your mothers maiden name and I will get them in the mail.

a light coat of baby oil applied to the back of the grip panels every blue moon helps, along with storage in a cool, dark area when not being used.. real ivory is still available, last I saw you can get XR3red sized grips for around 350-500 bucks..

Thanks Mike. Just applied a light coat of baby oil, wrapped them in tissue paper and put 'em in the safe.

apparently the baby oil kinda soaks in and keeps the grips "supple"..so they say..you dont have to apply it all the time, maybe once a year or so..of course, if they are camped in the safe out of the sun/etc I would bet they look the same 20 years from now... sweaty palms and harsh oils do more damage than anything..

 I was told by them that had them for many years before me to wipe them with vegatable oil, and keep them in a baggie when not on display. RB
