Chicken and Dumplings is just good for your soul! Never made it in a dutch over before though. Will have to try that.
 
I wish I coulda made it. I was thinking of a road trip, when 2 things kept me here. The sunday tourist traffic & the low country boil we were having,,,! Burp!
 
I'm a budding Dutch oven chef, and I've made chicken & dumplings many times indoors. I think I can put that together.

I've improved on my dumplings by kneeding the dough more that I would for biscuits. It makes it more dense and they don't dissolve like regular bisuit dough. I don't use much fat either - just a couple tsp of Canola oil...

All gone,,,! The cookout was for a small group. 15 lbs of taters, 5 packages of kielbasa, about 20 ears of corn cut in half, & 8 lbs of shrimp in it. I didn't have to go too far. Less than 5 min away.
