I have a stainless Savage Mark 2 and had to remove my rear and I also removed my front as well to mount my scope. I am needing two 3/8 dovetail fillers to help make it look a little better. My gun is stainless but blued would work in a pinch as well, where would the best place with the lowest shipping and cost of product be? Thanks for any help

I have found the Marbles stainless slot that would match my barrel, I als found the Williams aluminum slot that fits in without much effort and is held by a set screw but only comes in black. Which would be the best choice? Thanks

Well my wife reminded me about the set of sights I have that fit the 10/22, the rear went in easy and has a set screw and sits lower than Savage rear but I still had to remove the fiber optic part. But after I did that the scope will clear so the rear dovetail has a sight filling the hole. Bad luck on the front tho, while driving it in, the fiber part broke when the nylon punch slipped. So I am back to square one, as I would like the front and rear match so with no front sight, i will be removing the rear. I don't believe I have the set up to mount a front sight and on a tight budget i don't have the money for any equipment. I have been offered by my nephew a loss on the gun and then I will get one without sights from the factory. Thanks

Don't get the Lyman unless you like A LOT of fitting still to have an ugly filler. Used one on my 1951 Marlin 336RC when I installed a Redfield peep. I got one from Ranger Point Precision for my 1951 Marlin 39A (also a Redfield peep) and it fits perfectly. That means it's tougher to drift in (sharp edge to tap on) but the profile is great. Let me know if you want me to get the Marlin out and take a pic.

They even have stainless ---> CLICK HERE

Not to be snarky, but are you hiring a personal shopper here? Because I can spend 30 seconds doing an online search and find a bunch of answers a whole lot quicker than asking a crowd of unknown people and waiting to sort out their replies...

Using a dovetail filler was something I have never done and online searches has so many different answers. I wanted to ask real gun owners that may have also used a filler in the past and what worked best for them. Thankfully my wife reminded me about those sights and that took care of the problem. I have had guns for 46 years and always wanted them to look decent but now with being older and having to use scopes, some guns need modified to look ok.
