Yowza! I think it shows just how strong that GP100 is to have only lost the cylinder. A lesser gun would have lost the top strap as well.

As an aside, that might be a good project gun for an Alan Harton 41 mag conversion, what with the enlarged cylinder window and all...

Good thing it wasn't a S&W 19 !!! The surgeon would still be pulling out little pieces. Although most folk would hot rod that gun anyway.

Truly a testament to the strength of the GP100.

Pics are worth a 1000 words. Check, check and re-check those powder measurements even by the ole eyeball.

Reminds of a story my gunsmith friend told me about personally removing two bullets from the barrel of a GP for a guy. He said there was no bulging or damage visible or measurable either. Inspected it afterward, test fired it and returned it to the customer unharmed. I bought mine after that story.
