Heads up! I've just posted in the classified section an offer to send out some nice little pieces of walnut, almost free. Check it out here if you're interested:

WOW!! What a great thing to do friend. I have a lifetime supply of Walnut available for free but there are many that would love to get some. My old boss cuts and dries Walnut for his woodworking and for sale. Often the scraps are high quality stuff but too small for his needs.
Big Walnut log.

Grips in progress.

That's great, Chuck! You're right, that log you're sitting on in the picture would be enough to supply everyone on the forum for several lifetimes. The grips you're carving are beautiful! Looks like they'll fit perfectly and have a very nice contour. I'm still practicing but hope to get that good someday. Will you finish them with hand-rubbed oil, spray them with lacquer, or just leave them natural?

KWYJIBO , Thanks for the compliments my friend. The grips in that picture are now done and they were finished with Tru-oil. They took about 12 coats and were rubbed down with steel wool after each 2 or 3 coats and a very thin hand rubbed coat or two done to finish off.

Have fun!! :D
