DirectTV Gemini device

Have any of you gotten the Gemini device from DirectTV? They say it is free and they will come out and install it for Freazies. I'm just wondering what is in it for them. Why are they pushing this thing at no cost to them? There has to be something in it for them. Jut think of how much it will cost them for the huge amount of customers they have.

You have to be a direct tv customer to receive the device.

I can't receive one for free, according to direct tv and I looked because I had no idea what you asked about .

I know that is so true. That's why I'm asking here if anyone has done it. There has to be something in it for them. I've been a DirectTV customer for many years now. I'm wondering if somehow some of the prices for certain things will go up after one installs than Gemini thing. They already did away with a certain feature that I liked. While watching one of their programs you used to be able to click into "cast and crew". It would give you a list of names and pictures of the actors. That is now gone after one of their updates.

They probably have have come up with a better way to gather info on you to sell to spammers.
