Hi Folk's, I have a chance to buy a stainless Super Blackhawk w/ 4 5/8" bbl & rounded trigger guard made in 1994 for $ 430.00 otd. It has some scratches on it above the trigger guard & a couple other spots. If I run my finger across them I can't feel them. Is there any way to buff these out & still maintain the satin finish? Since it was made in 1994 I'm figuring the grip panels are Lett's- how does one spruce them up? Finally, (I'll totally understand the eye roll's here) the serial # is 86-666xx. It's put me off a little. What's ya'alls opinion? Thank's-Dave

Ruger's factory satin stainless is finished using a Scotch Brite Ultra Fine Hand Pad #7448 (the light gray Scotch Brite pad).

I was told this recently and it appears to be accurate after trying one. Take your time and use just one direction as best you can.

If it were me, I'd just carry it, shoot the yugo outta it and call it character marks.

The serial number is just a number...but you already know that.

A friend of mine was pretty high up in Ruger's Prescott plant. I recently posed that same question to him. He recommended a large eraser for pencil marks and as was said above, rub in a line parallel to the bore/cylinder. Don

Thank's Folk's for all the reply's. I'm sad to say it wasn't meant to be. When I went back on my lunch hour it had sold. Maybe that Bisley in .44 special that I've been dreaming of will show up some day-Dave
