Did Ruger raise the prices on the Mini 14 recently?

Was just looking at Bud's Guns and noticed the Mini 14's are 800 bucks now!

I wonder if Ruger thinks that a new AW ban will happen in the foreseeable future, and are hedging their bets that the Mini will be excluded from it? Not trying to make this a political thread, but it is well known that Ol' Bill liked this idea alot.

Prices for the Mini-14 have been climbing steadily for the past few years now. It's a little strange, because back in 2012, when they were $650 or so, an AR-15 was about $1,000-1,200. Now, the Mini's are pushing $800, but you can buy a Ruger AR-556 for $479. Things have basically reversed.

It's a design and materials thing...meaning that there's no aluminum in a Mini-14, and you can't put one together sitting at a kitchen table. Whole different situation than an AR.
Plus...If you ask me, AR's are finally getting down closer to what they have actually been worth all along. Heck, if they drop another $100 or so, I might even buy one myself. .

I got my 583 series birch stocked, blued Mini-14 in March 2015 from Bud's Guns for $624. Today the same model, #5801, is going for $756 so yes, they've gone up about 21% in the last 3 years.

Nobody named Ruger works or has anything to do with the Ruger company anymore. Ol' Bill is long dead.

FWIW, I'm still seeing the base-models listed on Gun Broker with "buy it now" pricing in the $699-$745 range, which is not really any higher than they were a year ago.

And on a different but related note...Brownell's is presently selling Ruger-brand 20-Rd Mini-14 mags for $22.99 each, and they'll ship 'em for free if ya buy 5 or more.

Wal-Mart is lowest price I am seeing at the moment. Shot one for the first time and I will be owning one soon. Surprised myself how well it shot for me with open sight. A very fun toy to shoot. Ammo is available most anywhere and reasonably priced compared to other calibers.
