Just saw in today's paper the notice of Lynn Anderson's death. Seems like only yesterday she was on the Lawrence Welk Show doin' "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden."

She and her mother, Liz Anderson, often performed duets together.

Sad to hear, RIP
Didn't realize she was still only 67 I would have guess she would have been in her ninety's it's been so long since she was a popular star.

Younger than the Hillabeast which shows just old that wrinkly old beast is.

I remember seeing her on Lawrence Welk when we visited my grandparents when I was a kid. I am sorry to learn of her passing.

Hi,

Lawrence Welk was a staple with my grandmother, and when she'd babysit us on Saturday evenings, we always had to sit thru it. I didn't appreciate too many of the singers, but Ms. Anderson was one of 'em I certainly did. Sorry to hear she's gone at what's beginning to seem too young an age! May she fnd that rose garden and rest there in peace...

The Lawrence Welk show, shown in syndication or course, is still one of my favorite shows. One of the few TV shows where folks look nice, well dressed and well groomed. And actually sing the song and play the notes. A refreshing, relaxing program.

Her obit was in our Sunday paper. I was AMAZED at what a nasty old bag she'd turned into during her not very advanced dotage...threatening to kill her boyfriend when he got fed up and left her...assaulting an LEO who was arresting her on another matter....YEEEEEE gads !!!

And so it goes...

I was just a kid when she put that song out on a 45.... She was one of my early heart-throbs. I just watched her first LW version of Rose Garden,.... high neck dress with a floor length skirt. That put a smile on my face.....

Lovely lady, gone too soon. I grew up with LW, Polka Parade, and of course the Opry. I have no musical talent what so ever. But, growing up in a house filled with it (sometimes it wasn't so great when my sisters were learning) has given me a great appreciation for it.
